TVR Chimaera 4 litre - Carte Grise problem

Slight panic. Help please.
Chimaera 4 lire, 1996, sailed through its CT ... but ...
The people at Carte Grise have said my TVR's CoC is not an original even though it has an ink stamp and an ink signature, and they are asking me to get one from the manufacturer's French office ... which TVR does not have.
Advice please?
Would the alternative be to get a DREAL done urgently?
Second question, not urgent. Can anyone recommend an insurance company more suited to TVR cars please? Generali have me covered at the moment, but I feel they don't understand cars of this type.
